Dermatology Heroes Aren’t Born…They’re Trained

The DERM2024 Theme is Marvel

Dermatology heroes aren’t born…They’re trained! DERM2024 is celebrating #DermHeroes with a Marvel theme. Our annual meeting themes are intended to bring a high level of fun and engagement to enhance the exceptional learning experience at the DEF Essential Resource Meeting.

You will find the Marvel theme integrated into multiple aspects of the meeting, from the exhibit hall, to the educational sessions, to evening social events. Get into the spirit as much as you’d like by wearing Marvel-inspired apparel, accessories, or costumes. And, if superhero movies and comics really aren’t your thing, don’t worry! You’ll still have plenty of fun and learn a lot at DERM2024.

GENERAL INFORMATION

What is the dress code for the conference? Are the evening events themed?

Dress comfortably for the conference and keep in mind that, although it’s July in Las Vegas, the conference areas may be quite cool. Consider bringing a light sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket. The dress code overall is business casual/casual; we ask that attendees refrain from wearing anything that may be considered offensive to others and to adhere to the resort dress code policies.

The meeting theme is incorporated into all aspects of the conference, including the evening functions. Attendees are encouraged to get into the spirit and wear themed clothing, accessories, costumes, etc. as they see fit (please avoid extravagant costumes and anything that may make it difficult for you or others to get around). However, costumes and themed attire are not required!

What can I post on social media from DERM2024?

We encourage you to share your DERM2024 experience on social media! Please note that podium presentations from the general session and product theaters and pre-recorded video content are all protected by copyright and may have other restrictions. Please do not take and share photos or videos of DERM2024 educational content. Handouts are available for your reference after the meeting, and video content will remain available for 30 days after the conclusion of the conference.

Otherwise, have fun posting images from breaks, the exhibit hall, evening events, and more!

Guests are not eligible to reserve individual rooms in the DERM2024 Encore/Wynn room block.

Who can attend the DERM2024 social functions?

DERM2024 WHOVA APP INFORMATION

When will I get access to the DERM2024 Whova app?

The DERM2024 app will be published and available for use 60 days prior to the start of DERM2024!

Why can’t I log into Whova? I entered my email address.

In order to log into Whova, you must use the same email address you used to register for DERM2024. For example, if you used a professional email address to register but try to log into Whova with a personal address, the system can’t recognize you. If you’ve had a failed log-in attempt, you may need to close out of Whova entirely and relaunch the app before you try logging in again with the email you used to register for DERM. Reminder – the DEF does NOT issue invitation codes. Please follow the steps outlined below to gain access to the app once it’s published.  If you follow these steps and still are having trouble, let us know.

  • Log out of the app
  • Sign back in with the email address you registered with and should be able to access the event.  If that fails, proceed to the next step.
  • Delete/uninstall the Whova app
  • Download the app to reinstall
  • Create a new profile with the email address you registered with, pick a new password, and you should get right in.
Why was my “Meet-up” deleted from the Whova app?

DERM organizers do not allow the planning and promotion of unsanctioned events that compete with the official DERM2024 program. As such, any “Meet-Ups” scheduled during meals, exhibit hall hours, general session, product theaters, social events, or other DERM activities will be deleted from the app.

Why do I need to download the Whova app?

We customize many aspects of the app in order to optimize the DERM experience for all attendees and exhibitors. Some of the prime reasons to use the app:

  • Up-to-the-moment agenda
  • Pre-recorded CME video content
  • Announcements from meeting organizers
  • Respond to polls from the speakers
  • Ask speakers questions about their presentations
  • Q&A for each session
  • Session handouts, articles, and supplemental materials
  • Social function details and descriptions
  • Attendee list
  • Shuttle schedule

There are also features of the app intended to promote networking and to help make your overall DERM experience more enjoyable. We encourage you to post photos from DERM2024, use the app to connect with other NPs and PAs or industry colleagues, ask the organizers questions, and track down property in the lost and found.

How long is the app open? Can I download handouts when I get home?

The app will stay open 30 days post event. Please view CME videos and/or download any desired materials within 4 weeks of the conference.

Can I block notifications from the DERM2024 Whova app? I love the app, but I’m getting pinged a lot!

We recommend that you keep notifications on while attending the conference so you don’t miss anything. We try to limit notifications to key information, but we have a lot to share! If you really want to reduce notifications, you should be able to do so via the settings of your device. We encourage you to check the app frequently, especially if you silence notifications.

In order to log into Whova, you must use the same email address you used to register for DERM2024.
