TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is designed for nurse practitioners and physician assistants specializing in dermatology.
GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: • Through case-based presentation and discussion panels, summarize updates in diagnosis, classification, therapies, and immune-system targets in psoriasis, PsA, and AD and describe their clinical implications. • Cite the mechanisms of action of various drugs that are commonly prescribed by dermatologists and devices that are used by dermatology medical health professionals to treat skin conditions. • Define appropriate outcome measures for the optimal follow-up of patients with dermatologic diseases as well as those receiving cosmetic procedures in order to improve healthcare outcomes. • Experience demonstrations and participate in discussion when utilizing dermoscopy and toxins/fillers in order to improve core competency for the medical provider and ultimately maximize patient and healthcare outcomes.

The Encore Resort Suite

The 745 square-foot Encore Resort Suite offers a view of the Las Vegas strip from floor-to-ceiling windows and your curtains, lighting, in-room dining, and room privacy can all be controlled from a bedside touchscreen panel next to the mobile phone charging outlets. Choose the king sized, pillow-top Wynn Dream bed and the 55″ 4K UHD television is set on a swiveling panel so it can be enjoyed in the bedroom or the living room. If you decide on two queen sized beds you’ll still have plenty of room to lounge or entertain in the living room.

Airport Shuttle

FOR ARRIVAL INTO LAS VEGAS MCCARRAN AIRPORT

The DEF provides complimentary shuttle transportation for all DERM2019 registrants and their guests from Las Vegas McCarran Airport (LAS) and the Encore Las Vegas on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 9:00 AM PT – 9:00 PM PT. The shuttles depart approximately on the half hour and the hour. During the scheduled times, transportation greeters holding a DERM2019 sign will be located as you enter baggage claim regardless of terminal. Check in with the greeter prior to obtaining luggage from the carousel.

FOR DEPARTURE FROM THE ENCORE AT WYNN LAS VEGAS

The return complimentary shuttle runs on Sunday, July 21, 2019 to the Las Vegas McCarran Airport from the Encore Las Vegas with departures starting at 12:00 PM PT and ending at 4:00 PM PT. During the scheduled times, transportation greeters will be located at the Tour Bus Lobby Entrance off of Wynn Boulevard. While staying at the Encore Las Vegas, feel free to check with the DERM2019 Registration/Info Desk for further information.

Cancellation/ Refund Policy

If you cancel on/before May 1, 2019, we will apply a $25 cancellation fee. After May 1, 2018, we will apply a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations will be processed within thirty (30) days. There will be no refunds for no-show. Please note you must contact your hotel directly to cancel any room reservations.

CALL FOR POSTER PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION AT DERM2019 NP/PA CME CONFERENCE

The submission deadline for poster exhibit or discussion abstracts for the Dermatology Education Foundation Essential Resource Meeting (DERM2019) NP/PA CME Conference is June 3, 2019. Abstracts will be published in the DERM2019 Program Syllabus and select abstracts will be discussed in the general session. The author(s) will be notified by email if chosen for discussion sessions. Please read the following guidelines carefully.  

TO SUBMIT FOR CONSIDERATION TO DERM2019 FOR POSTER DISPLAY ONLY

Part 1. Submit an abstract for consideration to the DEF via email to [email protected]. This abstract should be written in Microsoft ® Word and should contain the following components in a maximum of 750 words.
  • Poster Title
  • Poster Author(s)
  • Author Affiliation(s)
  • Author Contact Information, including email for notification of acceptance status
  • Abstract (should not be more than 750 words) to be structured per the following:
    • Introduction or Background
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion or Discussion

TO SUBMIT FOR CONSIDERATION TO DERM2019 FOR POSTER DISCUSSION (OPTIONAL)

Part 2. Submit no more than five (5) Microsoft ® PowerPoint slides outlining the poster title, authors, affiliation, and study/abstract results for. Relevant graphs and tables must be included. Feel free to include relevant speaker notes to explain in greater detail the visuals provided within the slides. This must accompany the poster display submission as noted in Part 1.  

POSTER PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION GUIDELINES

If the poster has been previously presented at another conference, it will be permitted to be displayed at DERM2019. However, we will not allow any duplication of poster data from prior DEF meetings.  

AVOIDANCE OF COMMERCIALISM

Any poster, of which the cost is underwritten to any extent by a pharmaceutical company or other commercial enterprise, must avoid commercialism. Trade names must not be used for drugs, devices and/or instrumentation including lasers. In addition, such a poster should include a clear but inconspicuous acknowledgment stating that a portion of its cost was underwritten and identify the particular commercial company involved. No advertising matter of any kind may be distributed nor will any material display which, in any way, directly promotes the commercial interest of any particular company, enterprise, or the poster presenter be permitted. Any medications or other substances, devices or equipment referred to in exhibit materials must be identified by their scientific names. Note: Sponsorship of funding by a commercial enterprise must be noted in the lower right- hand corner of the poster. Failure to do so will result in the poster being taken down.  

RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE AND LOSS

DERM2019, Encore, Wynn Las Vegas will not be responsible for damage, destruction, loss or theft of exhibits or property used in connection therewith, however caused, nor for goods sent to the building prior to or remaining after the exhibit hall has closed. The poster presenter agrees to the above and will present no claims to DERM2019, the DEF, and Wynn Las Vegas. The poster presenter assumes all responsibility for damage or loss to the poster and for damage caused by the poster exhibit to the person, property and rights (including patient) or others, including damage to the floors, walls, decoration or equipment of the Wynn Las Vegas and the poster presenter agrees to protect, indemnify, hold harmless and defend the DERM2019, DEF, and Wynn Las Vegas from and against any claim for such damage or loss.

TRANSPORTING

Poster presenters are encouraged to carry their material with them since small and/or flat items are easy to lose in shipping. DERM2019 does not provide return shipping services for poster presenters, however shipping services are available at the Business Center at the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas.
